Is there anyone out there who attended Gowerville Form 1 (year 7) in 1953? Girls attended Preston Girls High School for cookery and Sewing Classes and boys the Preston Tech. I recollect that land was set aside to develop into another High School at the time, although we were taught in portables at the time. I am seeking student enrolment records, but none seem to have survived subsequent closures and amalgamations.

My family came to Preston in about 1880 to Raglan Street, previously Market Gardeners in Brighton.
Would like to point out: I worked at Myers Northland when it first opened in 1963 so perhaps the opening date came later.
Also there was vacant land next to Mont Park Mental Asylum & Larundel Psychiatric Hospital where La Trobe Uni took up 500 acres including behind the Preston Cemetery in Plenty Road.
Also a major quarry in Plenty Road was filled in and became the Summerhill Shopping Centre + hotel later on.
