Hi Patricia
We had a milk bar also in Victoria street from 1956 to 1970 and my sister was born later in the area at the local hospital, We also attended King street state school and wondered what happened to some of the students there as most people moved out of the area

During 1947 when my family operated a milk bar in VIctoria Street I attended West Melbourne Primary School. Three decades later I ‘Participate in Melbourne’ forum as I am anxious that heritage items ( buildings, structures , areas etc) are selected which reflect and tell the complex economic, social and cultural history of this area . This article has assisted me in the identification of some of the buildings & sites which must be considered . Thank you
