Showers so as a kid I had no real choice who I would barrack for. I was happy with my “choice” of the Bombers. I remember attending VFL games at Windy Hill as a 12 year old in 1977. I used to travel alone there via tram, then a train from Flinders Street and then a walk from 898 Burke Road, Canterbury. I attended many games there over the next three years come hail or shine, always taking my trusty Thermos filled with Tomato Soup along with some Vegemite and Cheese Sandwiches. I enjoyed watching the exploits of Neville Fields, Shane Heard, Simon Madden, Merv Neagle, Tim Watson and Paul Vander Haar. I have fond memories of the Peanut Seller bloke and a blind guy who used to go to the games. When asked why he went, he answered “I like the atmosphere”
